Join us tonight as Pastor Marlon begins this great study on what Christ thinks of the Church, as we look at the 7 Churches in the Book of Revelation. Which Church best describes your relationship with God? Join us for prayer prior to our morning service and also recommencing this Wednesday evening is our Church prayer meeti
ng. Pastors and Elders are available to pray with you directly after each service.
From the Pastor’s Desk – There appears to be a change of thought, a shift in focus, within the modern Church in relation to the family gathering under the teaching of God’s Word, compared with that which the Bible reveals to us. In preparing to teach the book of Joshua, I have spent time in the Book of Deuteronomy as it gives us the context, the lead up, and actually foretells what is going to happen with the children of Israel, and their relationship with God. Moses commanded Israel prior to his death – Deu 31:12 “Gather the people together, men and women and little one’s..that they may learn to fear the Lord God, and carefully observe all the words of this law, and that their children…may hear and learn.. Everyone had been gathered together before this time as well back in chapter 29:10 All of you stand before the Lord your God…your little one’s and your wives.. It occurred also back in Nehemiah 8:3, when the law was read again to all the people of Israel after the scrolls had been found. In the seats of today’s Church, we are missing the children sitting with their parents, as a family, together under the Word of God. Sunday school has been created just for the little one’s unable yet to sit still physically with their family. But if your child is able to sit quietly with you, I encourage you to have them alongside you as you worship, as you have your Bible opened, as you listen seriously to the Word of God being taught. The modern Church is sadly assisting the demise of family devotion to God collectively by its overindulgence in dividing the family into classes and ages of children who should be alongside dad and mum in Church. If your child has the capacity to sit with you in Church – encourage this, worship with them, have your Bible between you and them, take notes. Discuss God’s Word together at home and in the car.
