Daily devotion – Heaven for me…
There are moments in my life that I am overawed by the presence of God. His holiness, His love for me and His patience, even though the way that I often live is not right before Him. It is at those moments as I read His Word that I find myself truly unworthy of all that He has done for me and all that He is doing for me.
Only God has such love and the way He washes us with this love makes me yearn for Heaven. Not for my own benefit but to see His face and say to Him how thankful I truly am.
Heaven for me will be the place of opportunity to finally express to Him how I feel and how much I am indebted to Him – face to face!
Heaven is a place the Bible tells me, will be my dwelling place for eternity. I know I will need such a period to give thanks to Him!
Some 39 times the Bible is filled with the words “give thanks”. The Psalmist wrote – Psalm 30:12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
I will give thanks to You forever! That is exactly what I look forward to doing the day I go home to be with my Lord.
What is that you are looking forward to when you reach your final destination?
Can you imagine seeing His throne for the first time? With the host of angels gathered around Him. The glory and splendour of it all yet knowing that He is my Lord, my Saviour, my Jesus!
It will be Heaven to me….
