Daily devotion – What’s happening within?

Pastor Keith   -

Phl 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

No one can see what goes on inside of you – your inner most thoughts and emotions, your dreams, your motives and desires. Nor can they see your inner commitment to Jesus Christ.

All they can see is your body – and they will judge what is on the inside of you by what they see happening on the outside. For example, a frown signals concern or disapproval; a smile signals gratitude or welcome; a clenched fist signals hostility or anger.

Do you see why Paul tells us therefore to “present (our) bodies a living sacrifice”? The reason is simple: The way we use our bodies will signal to others what we really are on the inside. We may claim to follow Christ, but if our actions tell a different story, people have a right to question our claim.

Our dress, our speech, our Facebook, our twitter, our Instagram, our habits – all should honour Jesus Christ if He is our true Lord and Saviour! We are to be “blameless and pure, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and depraved generation.” – Philippians 2:15.

Do your outer actions, your social media accounts, signal your inner commitment to Jesus Christ?

Let us in this time of grace, these Last Days prior to His coming, heed Paul’s words – Col 3:17 “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
