Daily devotion – Jesus is coming soon
Whilst our Australian parliament sits on one of the most important and far-reaching acts of legislation in our nation’s short history, the Religious Discrimination Bill, the voices of opposition are fuelling their protests and demanding their voices be heard.
I believe in time, and that not as far away as we might think, the Bible, will have certain sections of it outlawed. But I am not fazed by such coming expected events as God’s Word continually reassures me that what is happening is not a surprise to God, but as we study the Last Days, expected changes will occur. The Apostle Paul warned us….perilous times will come!
The refining, the purging, the purifying and growing of Christ’s Church continues before our eyes. The time is much shorter that we may think of the return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His Church.
The prophet Zechariah tells of the end of all matters of which I love to read and acknowledge will indeed happen – Zec 14:9 And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be—“The LORD is one,” And His name one.
This will be the ultimate victory, the future Divine event to which the whole creation currently is moving toward, the goal of God’s activity for humanity, and the realization of our world’s highest experience of life.
This hour will come when the feet of the rejected King stand again upon the Mount of Olives, no longer in the pathway of sorrows, but in recognized and acknowledged authority – Rev 1:15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters….
The earthly centre of Christ’s coming reign will be Jerusalem, that very Jerusalem so long trodden down by the Gentile world but at last the City of the great King. His people, the children of Israel will be at last cleansed from their sin and finally able to fulfil their priestly-kingly function in the world.
In Jesus Christ we have every word of prophecy made sure! Today before our very eyes, signs of His coming multiply and the eyes of the world are once again centred on Jerusalem!
Parliaments may sit, protests may increase, persecution and the outlawing of God’s Word will happen, but Christ’s feet will be placed on the Mount of Olives and God’s will, will be done.
Today, where do you stand with the Lord. For the coming days will soon separate the wheat from the chaff.
One for glory and one for burning and the winnowing has already started.
Jos 24:23 – “Now therefore,” he said, “put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the LORD God of Israel.”
Jos 24:15 – “And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
