Daily devotion – the power of witnessing
When one receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, so much more happens than just our forgiveness and salvation. Finally, we realize the reason for our being – Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
The very reason so many people sadly are living under an oppressive cloud is because they have not understood their reason for living, why they were created.
I don’t know about you but there is something exciting and passionate about being able to tell someone good news. For example, when they are going to be getting married, or they are having a baby, or they passed their final exams, or the doctor says you are now all clear. We are designed with these emotion in our lives. I believe one of the greatest reasons for such emotions are because God made us to glorify Him, to tell others about Him.
The Psalms are filled with words telling us to proclaim God’s greatness, to extol His glory, to sing aloud of all the wonderful things He has done.
I invite you to participate in what surely tops the class for raising joy in your own heart. When you share the Good News, the Gospel of Jesus Christ with someone, regardless of their acceptance or rejection, within you there is a palpable joy that flows from within your soul in being able to tell another about the wonder of God’s love and grace.
This week, if you are under a cloud, if you have been given not such good news about yourself, take a step of faith. Reach out and share the Gospel with someone. Tell them of the glorious love of the Father in Heaven who gave His only begotten Son to die for them on Calvary’s Cross. Then within your soul will rise up a medicine that will overwhelm all that is dark and sad in your life and cover it with the glory and presence of His being.
There is no greater joy than serving He who loves us!
