Daily devotion – miracles
Gen 1:31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Jesus came to give sinners salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life. We read of His many miracles in the Bible, and we have experienced miracles here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour because of our Wednesday evening prayer meeting as well.
When we think of miracles, we tend to think of miracles as interrupting the natural order. But, it’s the other way round.
Instead, when miracles occur, they are bringing restoration of that which God had called “good” in the first place as we read in the book of Genesis. So a miracle is the restoration of the natural order.
Sadly, we have become so used to living in a fallen world that sickness, disease, pain and death seem natural. When they are the interruption due to the fall of man and sin as a consequence entered our world.
When Jesus heals somebody, He brings eternal life to that which was dead. He brings peace to pain; He gives hope to vanity, and He gives joy to replace sorrow.
When Jesus walked this earth, He was rehumanizing the dehumanized, cleansing the unclean!
He revealed God’s compassion and great love for us in human form.
Jhn 21:25 And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
