Daily devotion – our unsaved loved ones
Mark 2: 1 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. 2 Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. 3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. 4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
There is not a day that goes by as the years tick over in our walk with the Lord that our hearts are not burdened for unsaved loved one’s. This stirs us to lift them once again to Heaven in prayer. We pray for their ears to hear the gospel of love that we know we have found in Christ. We pray for their minds to be free to choose to bow their hearts before He who suffered and died for them on the Cross at Calvary.
This burden does not leave us nor does our Lord desire it be so. For it is His hearts burden to that our brother, sister, father or mother, son or daughter would one day declare Christ as their Saviour and Lord.
At times this burden weighs so heavy on our hearts that we think that we cannot carry such weight. Let us be reminded today, that our Lord is active at every moment, that He is working overtime, to bring those we love home to Him.
For we serve a God who loves us far beyond we could ever imagine. It was this very love that patiently and lovingly rescued you from an eternity lost.
Our part is to be faithful in prayer, to bring our unsaved loved one’s to Jesus. Just like those four men who, unable to get their paralysed friend to see Jesus because of the crowd gathered around Him, went to the roof, tore it open and lowered their unsaved friend down right in front of Jesus.
Our roof is open and so is the way to Jesus because of Calvary, so we raise up our unsaved loved one’s in prayer and place each of them at the feet of Jesus.
He will do the rest!
So today, do not lose hope. Continue to pray and cast your burden before He who loves them.
Pray for each one of them now.
