Daily devotion – so much more to come…

Pastor Keith   -

As Christians we know we live in a fallen sinful world. Especially when illness strikes us. We don’t plan for it, seek it out, it just appears does it not and there are times you literally sense it slowly taking over your body.

I believe Christians don’t talk enough about Heaven in the time in which we live. It seems to only appear in our discussion when someone has passed away.

I look forward to Heaven so much. I can’t wait to spend time there with all our family, our children and grandchildren. To be able to meet those we have read so much about in God’s Word who have gone before us.

But there is one thing about Heaven I am really looking forward too. No illness, no pain, no sorrow – the Apostle John teaches us in such clarity in the Book of Revelation 21: 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Since sin entered our world sickness has settled over our lives and it just reminds us each time we are ill, that when we get to be with our Lord our way living will be so different.

Our world is in the grip of Covid that just won’t go away and now recently influenza has popped up again to remind us it always around. But soon, let us also be reminded that we will have brand new bodies – 1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. – and we will live in a Heavenly world where sickness will not ever exist.

Its just little reminders like these that keep us looking up and eagerly awaiting a whole new existence, living in the presence of Jesus Christ.

Only Christ and God’s Word can give you such future hope. Otherwise, you are left with annihilation which is the only real outcome of evolution.

Not for me, I know He is coming soon and I have so much to look forward to that will take all of eternity to investigate and experience.

All that we struggle with here at the moment is but for a season!
