Daily devotion – all that glitters…is not gold!
Pro 13:7 There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; And one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches.
We live in a world that is full of fakery and illusions. When visiting the ruins of the city of Ephesus, as we landed in Turkey, we came across a watch shop that sold ‘genuine fake watches’!
Today people are always trying to impress others. It seems as if appearance has become more important than reality . Worth is measured by wealth, not by character and conduct. As long as people have money and fame they are considered important.
To be rich and famous is now the ambition of millions of people. Until they reach that goal they enjoy riches and fame vicariously as they follow the careers of movie stars and rock stars.
Wise people believe God’s truth and live for reality and not illusion.
Pro 14:18 The simple inherit folly, But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
This week, be careful of the lure of the world, all is not what it appears!
