Daily devotion – the largest nation
Act 5:21 And when they heard that, they entered the temple early in the morning and taught. But the high priest and those with him came and called the council together, with all the elders of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
In Australia we have a term ‘round-to-it’. It is a word that best describes someone who is always going to get around to do what they should or need to be doing, but don’t!
We find the disciples heading to Temple early in the morning, not just the first chance they had, or when they had time to fit it in. It is said that the largest nation in the world is not China or Russia, but it is ‘procrasti-nation’. It’s a real problem with many modern church attendees.
When God speaks to you in His Word whether it be privately or in Church, do you respond immediately.
A wealthy inventor was quoted, “Without exception, after I have invented something and patented it, at least ten men come to me and say, ‘I thought of that long ago.’ But the difference between their poverty and my wealth is that they thought about it, but I did it!”
How often do we find ourselves saying:
“I really should share my faith.”
“ I really need to pray and read the Bible more.”
Or, “I should serve the Lord at Church in some way.”
Such sad folk remain poor spiritually. This week don’t have a passport belong to “procrasti-nation”, instead be early to Church, make it a habit and obey God immediately. He wants to get things done in the short time we have!
