Daily devotion – He always answers!
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Sometimes I have had people say to me, “God answered my prayer!” Normally what they are saying is, God has given them what they asked.
The truth of the matter is that God always answers the prayers of His children. But His answer is not always, “yes,” sometimes it is “no”, or “wait”. But all three are answers!
Remember Paul, he pleaded with God to remove his ‘thorn in the flesh’ – some form of physical illness – but God’s answer to Paul the Apostle was ‘no’. – 2 Cor 12:7-10.
God had something better – a path leading Paul into a deeper dependence on God and His grace.
You will also recall Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane as He faced the agony of the Cross – “If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me” – Matthew 26:39.
But God’s answer to His Son was ‘no’. Because there was no other way for our salvation to be won. God knows far better than we do what is best for us.
Let us always thank God even when He says ‘no’ or ‘wait’.
His answer is always the right answer – it’s always perfect!
