Daily devotion – dangerous living
Matthew 13:14 – In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “ You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.”
Many Australians live dangerously. I am not talking about taking risks physically with extreme sports or such things. No, I am referring to spiritual risk taking which will have eternal consequences.
The person who is in the most danger spiritually is the one who does not see any need for God. According to the last Australian census, that is close to 50% or half the entire population who ticked to have no connection or belief in God.
Australians like to enjoy life; they like to be successful and looked up by others. Such people may even be moral and honest and possess an outward religious countenance. The modern term now popular is that people call themselves ‘spiritual’.
But God has not touched their hearts.
Do you know people like this? Perhaps even in your own family? Only God can break through the barrier of a heart that has no place for Him.
That is why the most important thing you can do leading up to Christmas 2022 is to pray for them. Pray for them like you have never prayed before!
Do not give up! God is able to do what we cannot do. It’s His desire that they be saved!
