Coming Events –– Christmas is now just days away. Pray and invite members of your family and friends to join with you to make this Christmas 2022 something special! For those who are serving Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, please check in today with those overseeing the ministry areas you will be helping in. What a blessed time of the year Christmas is, and we really encourage you to join with us here at CCSH Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to finish off 2022 well! There will be children’s activities Christmas Eve during the service. You can really assist us and our ushers Christmas Eve on arrival by filling up the front rows of the sanctuary especially of you do not have small children. Just a reminder, our infant feeding room is not soundproof and is designed for nursing mothers and their little ones to be able to enjoy the service in privacy. It is not designed as a creche room as we have a room just for that purpose located next to our Sunday school rooms. On behalf of all the pastors and elders, their wives and families, we want to wish everyone a blessed, safe, and merry Christmas. 7 days until Christmas!
From the Pastor’s Desk – I love Christmas! The Christmas story never grows old to me, and I remember visiting the field where the shepherds would have been watching over their flocks on the outskirts of Bethlehem. What an evening it must have been for each of them! Are you worried that your Christmas is in danger of being disappointing? How often what we imagine, and plan, sadly sometimes just does not happen. What can we do to ensure that our Christmas will not fall flat? I can’t give you any guarantees about the food not working out, or that relative not being difficult. But, if you lay a foundation of prayer for your Christmas, it places everything in God’s hands! It means that you will see His hand and His grace working in and through you to see Him glorified. Even when things may not go to plan. This is what the Bible promises us. God is able to… cause everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Rom 8:28. But God also promises to help us when things get a bit difficult as well personally … And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Cor 10:13. Give the Lord your family, and your Christmas plans, place them in His hands with prayer and faith. He will be with you!
Helen’s Heart Thank you to all who have been praying for Helen and her time in surgery and hospital. The Church praying was such a comfort and a power to seeing her come through this time. Not quite over just yet but God has and is so good!
