Sun 9:00 am – Christmas Day ServiceComing Events
Welcome tonight to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour’s Christmas Eve service. We pray for you and your family to have a blessed Christmas gathering this 2022. For those of you who perhaps will be without a loved one, someone special for the first time this Christmas, we pray especially for God’s comfort and grace to be with you at this time. Tonight, the children will remain with us for the worship time and then will be dismissed to enjoy our special children’s program for them. You are also invited to join with us tomorrow Sunday at 9:00am for a Christmas Day service.
From the Pastor’s Desk Having travelled to Bethlehem and visited the location of Jesus birth, a cave that was both a stable, an inn, and a maternity ward some 2000 years ago, the Christmas story always has a special place in my heart. On a cool winters evening, God sent His greatest gift, His only Son Jesus Christ into the world He had created, to save us! The words “Merry Christmas” that I have heard and been sharing leading up to tonight, have a very special meaning for each of us. When backed by a true appreciation of what Christ’s birth means, these words when spoken are loaded with the grace and love of God. When we have them spoken to us in the same spirit, they are a reminder that there is a God, that we are not animals living alone in a jungle for survival, but that we have been created in God’s image. Created to have a real tangible relationship with He who created the World and all that we see. Christmas each year, when December 25 arrives, intervenes into our chaos, and reminds us there is hope and it came in the form of a child born in a manger to give God a face for us to see. We here at CCSH, pray that tonight you will sense once again the wonder of the true Spirit of Christmas, the time the Christ was born to save us! Merry Christmas!
Helen’s Heart I had to be in my Father’s house – Luke 2:49 Mary and Joseph could not find Jesus – they turned back to Jerusalem to search for Him. They had thought He was travelling with other relatives on their return home. After 3 days they found Him in the temple listening and asking questions of the teachers. He was about His Father’s business. Are you hungry for the teaching of God, are you with the Psalmist who said, I was glad when they said unto me let us god into the house of the Lord ? Psalm 122:1
