Coming Events –- This morning we gather to give thanks and remember our Lord as we take holy communion together. Parents, the extent of your child’s involvement we leave to you. 1Co 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. CCSH is selling off its remaining drama and choir t-shirts in order to get some new designs. See Noah Carmody for further information if you want to grab one of these CCSH black T’s. Israel tour sign-up sheet at the information desk. Join us as we walk in the footsteps of Christ in the Holy Land. Join us tonight, especially since it’s a long weekend, as we gather to worship the King of kings and the Lord of lords, for He is worthy of all praise. Please note the Baby Feeding room at the rear of the sanctuary is for breast feeding mothers and small infants only. All other children should be in Creche or Sunday school classes unless graduated.

From the Pastor’s Desk. When I went to high school, we had to buy a slide rule to use in calculations. Whenever you put up shelves, hang a picture, or do some paving, you need a spirit level to ensure you are not off centre. Both the slide rule and the spirit level are used at times in conversations when people are wanting to know the truth or speak the truth about something. “Are you on the level!” If you have ever attempted to construct or do something and not started off with things being balanced or level, you will always end up with a disaster. When we make decisions, plans, start a relationship, actually anything in your everyday living, your level, you slide rule, is always to be the Word of God. Pro 16:9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. It’s a very dangerous way to live if you do something and it is not ‘level’ with the Word of God. It is a foolish man or woman who sets a course without their compass being God’s direction and His Word. Save yourself a lifetime of grief and start nothing without your ‘slide rule, spirit level’ being the Word of God.

Helen’s Heart God’s Word is Go breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness – so the man/woman of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work – 2 Tim 3:16. If we stay in the Word there is the promise our ministry will be fruitful (Psalm 1:1-3) ‘Stay’ implies a diligent study of the Word. We are to meditate on God’s Word and not forget it. We are to think on it and memorise it. Some practical ways are to: set aside 10 minutes a day to memorize 2 or 3 Scriptures. Read them aloud and repeat them often – put them on cards and place in your bag to re-read in the doctor’s or dentist’s waiting room. Underline key words, use a song or as you teach your children to memorise – you also learn. That way His Word is hid in our hearts – Psalm 119:11 – for the Holy Spirit to bring to our remembrance as we witness to a lost world.

Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Pastor Charles wrote to us this last week expressing how thankful he and the Church are in CC Nasinu, Fiji, for our prayers. Let’s continue to pray for God’s Word to be spread in Fiji.

Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Deu 14:22“You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year.Deu 14:23 Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the LORD your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the LORD your God.

During the service we ask for your cooperation to not be a distraction to others by leaving your seat once the service has started. Please wait until the close of worship before leaving as people can be distracted while reflecting on God’s message to them.
