Daily devotion – The Jesus Revolution
The Jesus movement revival that took place in the 60’s with Pastor Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel being a pivotal part of that time. This Jesus movement has been made into a film by Lions Gate, called “The Jesus Revolution”. It’s a wonderful story that really lays out the beginning of the Calvary Chapel Churches impact worldwide significantly and how the gospel reached a generation of hippies and more!
We are currently in negotiations with Ace Cinemas Rockingham to have a screening of the movie at their theatre in April post Easter– most likely a Monday evening. It just opened in the United States and it is having a wonderful impact on people’s lives with many coming to Christ because of it at the screenings!
If you could make this a matter of prayer here for us at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour I am sure that many of your love one’s, friends and colleagues will enjoy the screening as you invite them to join with you on its screening – Lord willing.
It is a marvellous way to witness the grace of Jesus Christ through this amazing film that is a quality movie that stands head and shoulders above many previous Christian films.
We are looking at having you please praying twice daily for this film to have an impact on your life, your love one’s and many others by praying at 7:14 each day – am and pm.
This time is based upon the Scriptures in 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
The time is short before Christ’s soon return and we have been praying for a revival in our lives, our Church and our nation.
We have a tremendous tool to use to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to many people who would normally baulk at attending a Church service.
This is a time you could see a harvest in your own family as you buy a ticket for them to join you in the screening of “The Jesus Revolution”.
