Daily devotion – prayer a crime!

Pastor Keith   -

Dan 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Two members of the Israeli Parliament – the Knesset – have tabled a proposal that it be a criminal offence for someone to attempt to proselytise in Israel. I am fairly certain this will have no traction in Israel, but it is fascinating how Laws today are gunning for Christians who seek to share the Gospel. Our Great Commission!

In the Book of Daniel, King Darius was tricked by those pandering to his ego, to put in place a law that meant it was against the law to pray or petition any god or man, except the king!

Darius signed the new law and Daniel…..he prayed as he always had

But no laws or threats could keep Daniel from his times of prayer.

Is prayer to you a matter of life and death? It certainly was to Daniel.

I so desire to be like Daniel, but I know to be like him I need to pray like him.

If prayer in Western Australia was outlawed would there be enough evidence for me for you to be convicted?
