Sunday Bulletin – 2018 Remembrance Day Nov.11

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

This Sunday, the 11th of November is Remembrance Day – we will be taking a special moment in our service to stop, reflect, remember and honour those soldiers who gave their lives for this blessed nation Australia.

Australia did not conscript its soldiers to fight in the Great War – all Australian soldiers were volunteers…..

The First World War had a devastating impact on Australia. In 1914 the male population of Australia was less than 3 million, yet almost 400 000 of them volunteered to fight in the war. As many as 60,000 died and tens of thousands more were wounded.

In 1939 Australia with a population of just 6.9 million people, 40,000 young Australians made the ultimate sacrifice in WW 11 with another 40,000 wounded.

Australian war dead of the First and Second World Wars total 102,256.

Baby Dedication – In addition we will be having a blessed baby dedication this Sunday – it is significant that our children can grow up in a free nation where we can worship Jesus Christ because of the sacrifices of our fighting men and women.

Sunday 10:00 am Matthew’s Gospel – Matthew 8:5-17 – “A Soldier’s Faith!”

Sunday 6:00 pm The Book of Esther – God’s Perfection in Imperfection – Part 5: “Identity”

Wednesday 7:00 pm – Time for serious prayer for our nation. Be a part of God’s prayer team here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour. Make prayer a part of your Christian discipline and join us here at the chapel as we intercede on behalf of our church and our nation. You will make a difference when you pray.

2 Peter 3: 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.[fn] 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
