Daily devotion – always!
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
When missionary David Livingstone returned home to Scotland after sixteen arduous years serving in Africa as a missionary and explorer, he was a physical wreck. His body was emaciated by twenty-seven fevers that had attacked his body during those years of ministry.
His left arm hung now useless at his side, the result of being attacked by a lion.
Speaking to University students at Glasgow University, Mr Livingston said, “Shall I tell you what sustained me during the most difficult periods, the hardships and the loneliness of my exile?”
“It was Christ’s promise, “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Let us be reminded of those words as we start a new week, waiting for the return of our Lord, that no matter what trials we face, Jesus promised to never leave us.
He is with us every small step we take. Today write that promise down and keep it before you – He will never leave you!
