Daily Devotion -Be Strong and Courageous with God’s Presence
Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
In moments of great responsibility and daunting challenges, God calls His servants to be strong and courageous. Joshua, faced with the task of leading the people of Israel into the Promised Land after Moses, needed this reassurance from the Lord. It was a formidable role to step into, but God’s promise of His constant presence gave Joshua the confidence he needed.
Just like Joshua, we encounter situations that seem overwhelming and beyond our abilities. We may feel inadequate or uncertain about how to proceed. In such times, God reminds us of His promise: “I am with you wherever you go.”
The disciples faced a similarly daunting task when Jesus commissioned them to spread the Gospel to all nations. However, they received the assurance that the Lord would be with them always as they carried out their mission.
Embrace God’s call to be strong and courageous. As believers, we are not alone in our endeavors; God Himself commands us to draw strength from His presence. Let go of fear and discouragement. Instead, focus on God’s promise to be with us, guiding and supporting us through every situation. Just as God led Israel through the wilderness with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night, He leads us in our lives. Rely on His guidance and follow His leading. Cultivate a habit of seeking God’s presence through prayer, reading His Word, and spending time in worship. In His presence, we find courage and peace.
Remember that God’s love for us is demonstrated in Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross. Jesus laid down His life for us, making us friends with God and securing our eternal relationship with Him. Move forward in confidence, knowing that the Almighty God is with you. Walk with Him in faith, knowing He is leading and supporting you.
As we face the challenges of life, let us heed God’s command to be strong and courageous, knowing that we have the promise of His unfailing presence. In His company, we can walk with confidence, knowing that He is leading us every step of the way.
Psalm 27:1 (NKJV): “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Psalm 46:1 (NKJV): “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV): “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV): “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Heavenly Father, thank You for the assurance of Your presence in my life. Help me to be strong and courageous, knowing that You are with me wherever I go. Release me from fear and discouragement, and fill me with Your peace and confidence. I trust in Your guidance and seek Your presence daily. Thank You for the incredible love demonstrated through Jesus’ sacrifice, making me a friend of God. With You by my side, I can walk confidently in every situation. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
