Daily devotion – Sunday soon

Pastor Keith   -

Psalm 122:1 exclaims, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

As the week draws to a close and Sunday approaches, my heart is filled with anticipation for our gathering with the Church once more. It’s a time of gratitude, of worship, of immersing ourselves in the Word of our Almighty God, and of offering mutual encouragement. In this fleeting world, with the return of our Savior drawing closer, our assembly holds even greater significance.

Consider setting aside a moment before Sunday arrives to seek the Lord’s guidance. Approach Him with a heart open to being a blessing both to Him and to His beloved body of believers. Let us draw inspiration from the children at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour, who embody pure joy and excitement as they eagerly make their way to Church each week.

In these precious moments of gathering, God speaks to us through His Word. Approach Sunday with a heart prepared to hear His voice, ready to receive guidance and wisdom for the battles you face and the steps you need to take. Ask the Lord to lead you in encouraging a specific person who may need your support, someone whom He places on your heart.

Reflect on the words of David as he expressed the goodness and gladness he felt when entering the house of the Lord. Let his joy resonate within you, for being in God’s presence and among His people is a privilege that brings immeasurable joy.

As the weekend approaches, may your heart be filled with excitement and expectation for the fellowship, worship, and teaching that awaits. Let us cherish this time together and seize the opportunity to strengthen our faith, uplift one another, and glorify our Heavenly Father.
