Daily devotion – the morning prayer

Pastor Keith   -

Psalm 55:17 Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.

Monday morning reflections after Sunday Church, “Lord how could I have served you better? Lord continue to show me how I can serve you in more ways. Lord, thank you for your grace with me when I have fallen short. Thank you also Lord for Your Word of instruction in last nights teaching.”

The Psalmist David tells us how he opens each day, meets with the Lord at noon and closes the evening with prayer. I was speaking with someone after yesterday’s service on the power and wonder of prayer. So often people will come to Helen and I or one of the pastor’s seeking advice on a matter. In my discussion yesterday I said the greatest advice always that I look to now at all times is, “Let’s pray about the matter and bring it to our Heavenly Father.”

Prayer is and for ever will be the answer to seeing God solve our everyday struggles and concerns. Whether it be your health, your marriage, your children, the answer is found in bringing it in prayer to our Father in Heaven.

Many people are always seeking a magic elixir, a quick cure outside the simplicity, wonder and power, that is found in prayer.

We His Church, will never achieve, will never reach the victories, or know God in a greater way, apart from prayer.

The Devil knows this full well that’s why his most resistant effort is seen in keeping God’s people away from gathering in prayer.

Sadly, over the Churches history, the most dominant and powerful times of the Church praying have usually occurred only when times are most desperate.

But why wait for such times. Or are not the times we live in now, desperate enough?

Heed David’s example and call to prayer, morning, noon and night and God guarantees you and I will see His power demonstrated!

Psalm 5: 1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation. 2 Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. 3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.
