Prayer for Israel – “All About Heaven!”
Sunday 22nd October 2023
This was loaded on Twitter yesterday by a Jewish Mother in Israel – “I don’t want to be Jewish. They don’t shoot non-Jews.” – my four-year-old son – Beth Mandel.
This Week at Calvary Yesterdays Calvary Ladies walk was an enjoyable time of fellowship. Phyllis Lyle set a fast pace. The Lord will preserve our going out and coming in, for evermore – Psalm 122:7. Ladies next Calvary Women’s Tuesday Bible study and fellowship is on the 1st November, put it in your diary! The events in Israel continue to escalate and Ps Keith will share the latest information this morning. Please, as families will you pray for all the hostages still held captive by Hamas. Your prayers matter! We encourage you to not only join us Sunday mornings but also Sunday nights and Wednesdays for worship and the study of God’s Word. Let us take time with the Lord and His Church beyond the 45 minutes of a Sunday morning. There is no greater way to spend the time God has given you than in worship of Him, the study of His Word, and being with the body of Christ. Be sure to invite someone to join you each week. There are people that God has waiting to be invited to go Church but as yet no one has asked them. You can be like the disciple Andrew and introduce people to Christ.
The Praying Church We are living in the Last Days – our most powerful weapon is prayer. Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings at 7:00PM. Be a prayer soldier with the Body of Christ here at CCSH, in the most powerful way you can! 1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing
From the Pastors Desk. Through the week I have watched over and over evil people remove and tear down posters around the world of those Israeli’s killed by Hamas and or taken captive by them during the terrorist attack on October 7. Many people have filmed and posted these cowardly people blatantly tearing down these posters and have done nothing to stop them. They have not confronted them or attempted to stop their cruel actions. The generation that survived and fought in WW2 would not have stood for or allowed such public displays of outrageous evil behaviour. Now people just let things happen. Yes, we need to be wise in such situations, but we also need to at least voice our outrage as we see the Jewish nation once more ridiculed and mistreated. Doing nothing is a travesty. Let us pray powerfully, passionately for God’s chosen people Israel instead of not saying or doing anything as we see them suffer. Mar 9:42 “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.
Short Sayings “If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God, you’ll be at rest.” ― Corrie Ten Boom
Grace Giving 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities. Located on the eastern side of the sanctuary is a container for your grace giving – or you may wish to give electronically via the CCSH account – 2490144 – BSB – 306089
Please note – Bankwest – Our Church bank is closing all Church accounts shortly– so we will be moving to the Commonwealth Bank which will mean a new Account Number for all offerings – once we have arranged this change we will publish the new account numbers – thank you and bless you.
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji
Pray for the gospel to be spread throughout Fiji.
64 days til Christmas eve..
Helen’s Heart – Jesus calls us His friends and part of this friendship is that He has revealed His ‘mysteries’ with us. We are no longer in the dark but have the “light of life” – John 8:12. We know where we are going. You brethren are not in darkness…you are all sons of light – 1 Thess 5:5. In this world of spiritual darkness will you shine the light of God’s truth?
If you missed out on the information sheet on Israel last week – we have printed off another batch for you – available at the information desk.
