Daily devotion – a godly legacy lasts.

Pastor Keith   -

Pro 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.
Pro 22:1 A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold.
Ecc 7:1 A good name is better than precious ointment, And the day of death than the day of one’s birth;

This week in England, the City of London, there were old soldiers, veterans, surrounding the cenotaph, where on Remembrance Day on the 11th of November, people will gather to remember the sacrifice of those in war. It was heartbreaking to see those elderly men waving the flag of their nation and the Israeli flag as well, yet being mocked by Hamas sympathizers.

How England has fallen in its values and recognition of things that are right and true. These elderly men have fought for the freedom of England and now they are having to be surrounding by a protective fence lest they be harmed. Those seeking to bring violence and their radical terrorist views upon them are like the bulls of Bashan as David describes surrounded our Lord whilst He hung on the Cross at Calvary.

Psa 22:12 Many bulls have surrounded Me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.

England has sowed to the wind and now is reaping the whirlwind. What sort of legacy will those who seek ill will and harm to war veterans leave when they age?

Nothing but evil and shame! They will then face the judgment of God surely.

The legacy that lasts is not one made up of material possessions or fame. The only true legacy of any worth is to leave a hunger for the things of God and a passion to serve the Lord to those following after you.

Pray this week about your legacy. What are you going to leave your children and those who know you? It must be your passion and love for Jesus!

Perhaps you have wasted time and effort on fleeting things. If so, from today, seek to change that in your life. How wonderful it will be if at your passing, those who you have met, those you have raised, will be left with the richness of a life well lived in the presence of God!

To leave a godly imprint is to leave an impression that is everlasting!
