Daily devotion – Counsellor
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor
His name is Counsellor – What a joy to know that Jesus came to take care of the decisions we will face in life.
Psalm 73:24 tells us, “You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.” Do you know today that the Lord God Almighty wants to give you His personal counsel and direction on all matters pertaining to your life?
Some people will head to the local pub and spill out their sorrows to anyone with a listening ear. Others, in desperation, will turn to psychics for answers. Some will spend a great deal of money on a therapist, or other such entities.
Yet here the Bible tells us that the Creator of Heaven and earth, the Mighty God, Jesus Christ is offering you His counsel. He desires to guide your life and direct your paths. The way He will do this is primarily through the Word of God, the Bible. That is why we need to take time to discover what the Bible has to say. It is there that we will receive the counsel of God. I am in awe of how God can take His Word and make it so personal. You can listen to a message at Church, and it is as though that message was written just for you.
God has an amazing way of taking His Word and applying it in your life.
This week what has God been telling you, speaking to you about concerning the path and direction of your life? Or are you struggling in the wind trying to decide without Him?
God is never in a hurry and so too when you are making any sort of decision never let it be rushed or based on pure emotion. God is thorough in His directions, better still His paths are the right ones to follow.
Change your life from being one of panic, confusion and poor decision making to that of peace as you allow God to decide your every next step!
