Daily devotion – good or evil?

Pastor Keith   -

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

We are living in the Last Days the Bible says, prior to the Rapture of Christ’s Church, followed by 7 years of Tribulation also called Daniel’s 70th week.

The Church of Jesus Christ was born on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was seen like flames of fire over the disciples of Christ, His Apostles. Since that day, Satan has set about to destroy and infiltrate Christ’s Church and to bring false teaching including the abandonment of the Word of God, the Bible, as God’s inerrant Word.

As Christians seeing our world spiralling further and further into depravity and God’s chosen people being alienated from the rest of the world simply because they seek to defend themselves, we also see as Isaiah prophesied, evil being called good – Hamas – and good called evil – Israel defending themselves from another holocaust.

But Isaiah’s prophecy goes much further than the war in Israel. We see the traditional family torn apart, abortion now as something of convenience, and the Church plagued with false teaching.

But each and every one of these things the Bible said would be signs of the Last Days happening before our very eyes. We are just a ‘feeler gauge’ away from a cashless society, meanwhile Islam has put on the “after burners”  in its assault on Christianity and the people of Israel.

But be reassured, just like Isaiah’s prophecy, each piece of the puzzle is being put into place. The coming 2024, will see an even far swifter and dramatic shift in evil being called good and good being evil!

There is a most wonderful scripture in the Book of Hebrews that gives us a disciples of Christ great strength and comfort as these things happen around us – Hebrews 12: 27 – Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

The world can make its outrageous calls and opinions on all things godly but let us rest in Christ today knowing that His promises are unshakable – John 14: 1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Let us take note of Isaiah’s prophecy with the knowledge and understanding that the world as we it now and its behaviour highlights the nearness of Christ’s return for His Church.

And the judgment of an ungodly world is closer than we think.

Therefore, let us gather with Christ’s Church this Sunday and worship Him who changes not and praise the Holy Name of the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ.

The time is at hand and we need to be watching and waiting in great expectation.
