Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour
…simply teaching the Bible simply….

This week at Calvary – Welcome to CCSH this morning. Should you desire to know Christ as your Lord and Saviour today, or need prayer, please see one of the Pastors/Elders directly after the service and they will pray with you. Our Church lunch is on today. We pray that you may seize this opportunity to join with us here at CCSH. The Calvary Women’s Bible study kicks off on THIS Tuesday 13th February – creche available. Parents, don’t forget to encourage your Sunday school age children to give for our missionaries each Sunday. This week the Calvary Board of Elders is meeting, and we ask for your prayers for them as they seek the Lord for wisdom and direction for Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour 2024. As we are teaching through Genesis on Sundays and Wednesdays, we encourage you to keep up with both services to ensure that you get a full understanding of this amazing book. For it lays out the correct markers and foundation to rightly divide the other 65 books in the Bible.

From the Pastors Desk Noah’s Ark was an amazing piece of engineering and practicality. The Ark was as long as a 30-story building. It was more of a well-ventilated barge than really a boat, meant only to float, not sail anywhere. It was about the size of the Titanic. It was not until 1858 that a vessel bigger than the Ark was built. If the Ark carried two of every family of animal, there would be around 700 pairs of animals; but if the Ark carried two of every species of animals, there would be around 35,000 pairs of animals. The average size of a land animal is smaller than a sheep. The Ark could carry 136,560 sheep in HALF of its capacity, leaving plenty of room for people, food, water, and whatever other provisions were needed. What does the Ark story have to do with us today in 2024? The Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3:1-7 relates the coming future judgment to the judgment of the flood saying, unbelievers wilfully forget…the world that then existed perished being flooded with water. God will make it even more necessary for people to WILLFULLY FORGET these things. But Noah when given this staggering job to do, just went ahead and did it! No complaining, no rebelling, he simply obeyed. Noah condemned the world by offering salvation in the Ark that the whole world rejected! A preacher of righteousness for 120 years without one convert! Jesus is Coming!

Helen’s Heart Children come and listen to me I will teach you to worship the Lord – Psalm 34:11. What feeling is so nice as a child’s hand in yours? It reflects trust strength and guidance. Parents (& grandparents) you have been teaching your children right from wrong, respect for others, coping with pressures and fears in a world less than whole. Such a charge, to nurture hope for their future that God has made! They need your strength to lean on and example to learn from. God has not left you alone in this responsibility. He who made your children will hear your petition. He will sustain you and give you wisdom in this awesome task.

Grace Giving 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities. Located on the eastern side of the sanctuary is a container for your grace giving – Commonwealth Bank
