Daily devotion – Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Womens Ministries

Pastor Keith   -

Helen spent time with me today, sharing about Tuesday’s Calvary Chapel Women’s Bible study and how encouraging it is to have godly women who desire to know God more excellently.

The Bible speaks in detail about the great men of the Bible, but let us also never forget the importance of godly women throughout the Old Testament and later in the Church of the New Testament.

There was a group of godly women who provided Jesus and His disciples continuous and gracious service to them not only in practical terms but spiritually as well.

Who were they who gathered at the feet of the Cross at Christ’s crucifixion when the disciples had scattered? Who were the first ones at the tomb that first Sunday Resurrection morning?

Here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour, women outnumber the men at the Wednesday night prayer meeting and the preservice prayer meeting each Sunday morning. They also dominate the Sunday school and servant rosters in other areas.

In Hebrews 11, we have Sarah and Rahab as examples of faith for us all to look to and emulate.

Who could forget when God commanded Abraham to heed his wife Sarah’s advice on Ishmael?

Genesis 21:12 – But God told Abraham, “Do not be upset over the boy and your servant. Do whatever Sarah tells you, for Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.

Each Tuesday fortnight, Helen gathers with such ladies, and through their prayers and faithfulness, the body of Christ here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour is blessed!

We look forward to seeing more women of God step into these areas of ministry for the glory of God.
