Daily devotion – rest!

Pastor Keith   -

ISAIAH 40: Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Being weary or tired seems to be a chronic condition today for so many people. Those who serve the Lord with their lives I believe get an addition load of weariness as we battle the enemy and seek to bring glory to God.

People try many ways of curing or resolving their tiredness. It might be trying to grab a nap, but usually tired people are those who don’t have a chance of grabbing a power nap.

Others might try some oral substances in an attempt to break the tiredness cycle.

But there is a real and true cure for all who are weary and heavy laden. We have heard those words of Jesus many times.

The prophet Isaiah informs us there is a connection we can make, an intake source that will revive us to fight another day.

It’s found and released to us when we wait on the Lord!

This is a promise from God!

Notice Isaiah asks a question to the weary. Do you not know?

God never grows weary, and He can give strength to those who are weary or weak.
Those of us who hope in the Lord, are those who remain faithful to God.

This promise of rejuvenation is to them!

If today you are done….really struggling with weariness….with your Bible in hand and notebook, go to your quiet room or place and there ‘wait on the Lord’. Let the Holy Spirit lead you in prayer, and with an open heart, and an open Bible let God refresh you as only He can.

He will give you rest!
