“Why reason you, because you have no bread? …Do you not remember – Mark 8:17-18
From the Pastor’s desk
Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Jesus clearly states in this verse our desperate need for God’s Word the Bible. Jesus adds a little more detail telling us we need every word of it to live right before God in this dark dangerous deceiving world. As a Pastor now for nearly 40 years I have seen a sad neglect of the Bible increase with each passing year. As a result the church has kept in step with this neglect and become Bible illiterate to such an extent that the Bible is disappearing right before our eyes – even in church. Most things today come with instructions when we purchase them that detail assembly, warranty, troubleshooting and operation. We know how much we need them to get things right! Your walk with God, your ability to live victoriously, how to raise your children, how to have a blessed marriage – you need the instruction manual too. I encourage you to “get a grip” physically on your Bible and going to it daily. Jesus said it’s more important to us than bread!
GRACE GIVING
CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically.
Don’t forget to encourage and guide your children to enjoy grace giving.
Church Etiquette
We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning the ushers will direct you to seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
Please assist our ushers again this Sunday as they encourage you to fill the front seats first to ensure the seating in the chapel is evenly spread – thank you.
The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith. – Billy Graham
Next week Pastor Keith begins a new series on the Book of Jonah – “Running Away from God!”
