Daily devotion – dangerous seas ahead.
I read in the newspapers, letters to the editor this week, a letter demanding that Church leaders must get with the times. They must change what they teach, move with the changes in our society and adopt societies new norms and tolerances.
The man who wrote this is an obvious atheist as his words reveal his foolishness, the complete idiocy and ignorance in his statements. As Paul wrote in the book of Romans – Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
One only has to look at the window and walk our streets to see that the so called ‘modern society’ and its progressive tolerance and beliefs have only led us into a cataclysm of violence, anarchy, selfishness and perverse immorality.
The Law of God, the Word of God, Truth itself, never changes or adapts – truth remains truth!
The Law of Gravity has not adapted with our modern society, no law of physics has. They remain as they always have from the beginning, so too the Word of God – it changes not!
Our foreign minister Penny Wong, has voted this week in her role as representing the nation and people of Australia to approve of the Palestinian group of refugees and mixed nationalities calling themselves Palestinians, to have the right of speaking on issues beyond ‘Palestinian’ issues in the United Nations Governing Assembly. Thus directly supporting Hamas, a terrorist group who on October 7 carried out murder, rape and acts of violence that made seasoned soldiers weep as they examined later the evidence of their atrocities.
Now we as a nation unless we can see a change of government will reap the consequences of going against God’s chosen people – Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee. Thus bringing down upon us as a nation the judgment of God!
The Church, our church here in Secret Harbour, must now as Daniel did in Daniel chapter 9 plead before God on our nations behalf and seek God’s mercy.
Let us once again hear and heed the words – 2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Let us pray for our government, our leaders who have led us into such treacherous seas!
