Daily devotion – The great Pretender..

Pastor Keith   -

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Today my thoughts took me to a brother who has passed. He was a very kind and loving brother who was taken captive by Satan through the cult of Jehovah Witnesses. The enemy through this cult changed my brother terribly. No more birthdays, or Christmas celebrations. Even when our mother reached her 90th birthday, he with his family were notably absent.

At her passing they would not enter the Church building where her funeral was held.

Not a word spoken at her death.

Helen and I visited my brother just prior to his death which occurred through the negligence of doctors and modern medicine because of  their cultish beliefs. I asked him if I could pray for him whilst he was in bed and sadly, he denied our request that last moment Helen and I shared with him.

I write this today to warn you that we are in a battle for people’s souls with a wicked adversary who is the cruellest of creations. Our faith in Jesus Christ is not a fad, or simply a way of living. It is the acknowledge of the one true God who sent His Son Jesus Christ into a fallen world to save us from our sins and to conquer the power of the enemy over us.

If you have family members unsaved or involved in a cult, I pray that you never stop interceding to our Lord on their behalf.

We are in the most serious of battles of which the outcomes are eternal!

Those who seek to lure you away from THE faith, remember Jesus called them wolves….ravenous wolves Paul added, and they dress in sheep’s clothing.

Their aim is death, eternal death and to keep us away from salvation that is only found in Jesus Christ and the Cross of Calvary.

We must therefore know God’s Word and be prepared to defend the faith that we have been given through Christ and His precious Word.

Satan’s strategy is to counterfeit what ever God does. He would deceive us were it not for the Word of God and the Spirit of God – 1 John 2:18-27.

The stakes are high!
