In reverence to the Lord and His Word – we ask for your cooperation so as not to be a distraction to others by leaving your seat once the service has commenced, the exception being parents responding to signaling from the creche. We ask you also to please wait until the close of the service before leaving, to allow people to reflect on God’s message to them.

This week at Calvary.

This morning we have the privilege of gathering around the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion. Parents, the extent of your child’s participation is left to you. But it is very important that the receiving of communion should only occur by those who have acknowledged Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. We also remind parents to use the time that the bread and cup are being made available to the congregation to share quietly with your children what the significance of the communion service is. Last Sunday we had a wonderful time of eating together here on the Church grounds. May people commented not only on the great meal but also the tremendous fellowship they had with other families and believers. Calvary Women, please place in your diary the next Tuesday Women’s Bible study will be on the 23rd of July here at the Chapel. The CCSH board met with Paul Reid Thursday evening to discuss the next step toward our building extensions – basically two additional classrooms and a youth hall, combined with some office space and increased storage capacity. Please keep this matter in prayer as we look to improve the facilities to meet the growing youth and children needs of the Church.

From the Pastors Desk
For some, today will be just another Sunday. Walk the dog, read the paper, have a cup of coffee, or sleep in. They will follow the same procedure next week. But for us as believers, Sunday brings with it the opportunity to be in the House of God. We will gather with others who have been given the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ the Son of God. We will collectively worship the God who created Heaven and earth. We will sing with our hearts full of praise and thanksgiving. Then we will sit and hear the Word of God preached and God Himself will speak to each one of us through His Word, as His beloved children. We will have the opportunity to give back a portion of the blessing He has provided for us to live and enjoy. Each Sunday will be different, our expressions of thanksgiving will change due to the storms we will have faced and victories won. Each time, God will give us a new message of hope and wisdom, and we will be filled once more with the bread of life. Jesus said- Jhn 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. For every believer it’s never just another Sunday!

Helen’s Heart
2 Cor 12:7 Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. With this weather of much rain and days of sunshine, I have a late unexpected bloom of rose. As I pick these flowers and continue to prune for winter I often snag my fingers on the thorns and wonder why they are necessary on such a beautiful plant. They are there to protect the flower. So too God allows thorns in our lives to keep out feet on the ground, to protect us from pride and self-sufficiency. As we accept these thorns and look to Him, as with Paul we too will find His grace is sufficient, thus we can bloom in the place God has us.

Grace Giving
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities.
