This week at Calvary.
Its back to school this week and so too with that our Calvary Kids, Calvary Youth and Calvary Women’s Tuesday studies are back into gear as well – please place in your diary the next Tuesday Calvary Women’s Bible study will be on the 23rd of July here at the Chapel. “To all the parents of CCSH – Welcome back to another term of Youth Group here at CCSH! We have some more exciting things planned for the youth. If your child is aged between the school years of 7-12, then they will be attending youth group from 6pm till 8pm. If your child is aged between the school years of 3-6, then they will be attending kids club from 5pm till 6:30pm. This has been done to allow for deeper discussions with the older youth about Christianity, and to encourage the older youth to serve in the kid’s club ministry, as well as to supply a more basic message to the younger aged children. Youth group and kids club will continue to be every fortnight during the school terms. If you have any questions send us an email or reach out on 0468 595 158 (Noah Carmody). This term we are starting a new study looking at how to live out our faith practically
as Christians. We will discuss the topic of the passage, follow the main points and dive deeper in with questions among their groups. Feel free to invite any friends or family to youth group this term! Parents if you would like to help also, see Noah for further information!” We continue to encourage the Church collectively to set aside 7:30pm Wednesday evening at home to pray with us here at CCSH if you are unable to be with us here at the chapel. As more and more of the Church body put this prayer time in place, we will see God move powerfully in and through us as we pray!
We also rejoice in our suffering, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, and perseverance, character, and character, hope. – Romans 5:3-4
From the Pastors Desk
2 Corinthians 4: 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body
There are times in our lives when we don’t know why God has allowed something bad for us to go through and experience. But in my experience during such times, God has used them to teach me and shift me closer to be more like Jesus and a godlier person. Disappointments and tragedies are never pleasant, but they each can teach us to turn to God in a far greater way, increasing our trust in Him even more! For during such times, we seek from Him the hope and comfort that we need. In addition, I have found that times like these also teach me to be more patient and in turn make us more sensitive to others who are suffering of which we have been previously ignorant. If you are in a storm at this moment in your life, God is with you, and He is changing you into that person you so desire to be to His glory!
Grace Giving
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities.

“I would go to the deeps a hundred times to cheer a downcast spirit. It is good for me to have been afflicted, that I might know how to speak a word in season to one that is weary.” – Charles Spurgeon

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree … —1 Peter 2:24
All life is a struggle—that is the nature of things. Even within our physical bodies, doctors tell us, a conflict for supremacy is going on. The bacteria in our bloodstream are waging a constant war against alien germs. The red corpuscles fight the white corpuscles constantly in an effort to maintain life within the body. A battle is also raging in the spiritual realm. “We fight,” the Bible says, “against the rulers of the darkness of this world.” Darkness hates light. I have a dog that would rather dig up a moldy carcass to chew on than to have the finest, cleanest meal. He can’t help it—that is his nature. Men cannot help that it is their nature to respond to the lewd, the salacious, and the vile. They will have difficulty doing otherwise until they are born again. And until they are changed by the power of Christ, they will likely be at enmity against those who are associated with Christ.
– Billy Graham
