Daily devotion – political unrest
The attempted assassination of former U.S. President Donald Trump is a further highlight of how volatile the politics of world governments are at the moment. There seems to be a worldwide unrest with governments and nations and their current leaders. Gone are the Halcyon days where most powerful nations had statesmen as leaders such as Winston Churchill, John Curtin, Truman and other such like.
With this current worldwide unrest, people are looking for someone to lead them out of their anger and despair with a hope that peace, prosperity and strong leadership will rise from somewhere in the political whirlpool.
Jesus said, Jhn 5:43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
When Jesus came, His own people Israel rejected Him, but in these Last Days, Bible prophecy tells us of one spoken of by the prophet Daniel, 9:26 and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
The political world is close to the moment that it is ripe and ready for the Antichrist, the new world leader, to step out from behind the curtains and be revealed.
We grow closer and closer to this each revealing each day but as Christ’s Church we will not see this ‘man of the hour’ appear, but we will be raptured to meet the Lord in the air, before this false Messiah takes the stage.
2 Thess 1:1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
The hour draws closer and closer.
