This week at Calvary. This Friday evening, both Calvary Youth and Calvary Kids are meeting. Encourage your children to join these vibrant groups where they can grow in their faith and build lasting friendships with other believers their age. Next week, we have the joy of celebrating Holy Communion together. It’s a special time for reflection on Christ’s sacrifice and unity as a church family. Daily Devotions: Do you receive the daily devotions from CCSH? These devotions address many basic Bible questions and are often packed with enough Scripture to facilitate a family Bible study on various subjects. To receive these devotions on your phone or laptop, visit our website at ccsh.com.au and follow the links. Encourage Your Kids: Parents, make sure to encourage your kids to be part of Calvary Kids and Calvary Youth. If they have outgrown these groups, direct them to the Calvary Young Adults, who meet on Saturday evenings under the teaching of Pastor Marlon and Hannah le Chat. Proactively support your children in gathering with other Christians their age; doing so will bring blessings into their lives. Spring Cleaning Day: As we look forward to Spring after August, we are planning another Church Spring Cleaning Day. Last year’s event was incredibly successful, with a significant amount of tidying and cleaning done around our Church property and facilities. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and service, and we look forward to doing it again. Next month, we will be providing information about this year’s Operation Christmas Child boxes. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to share Christ’s love with children around the world through simple, yet impactful gifts. Get Involved and Stay Connected – Seize these opportunities to grow in your faith and support the growth of others. Be proactive in pointing your children towards these enriching activities, and don’t miss out on the blessings that come from active participation in our church community. Stay tuned for more updates and continue to engage with us through our website and daily devotions. Let’s continue to build a strong, supportive, and Christ-centered community here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour!

From the Pastors Desk Seizing the Moment in Troubling Times – Reflecting on the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony The opening of the Paris Olympics has sparked significant criticism from Christians worldwide due to its portrayal and mockery of the Last Supper of Christ. While the content and delivery of these ‘celebrations’ were troubling, they serve as a stark reminder to serious students of the Word of God about the signs of a Christ-rejecting world and the resulting moral decay in society. Despite the disheartening nature of these events, they present us, as Christians, with a unique opportunity to shine even brighter. In the face of such dark and perverse backdrops, the grace of God can illuminate through our lives more profoundly. This moment is a call for us to be vigilant and proactive in our faith. The late great evangelist Billy Graham emphasized the importance of being well-informed about world events. He understood that such knowledge provides opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Events like the Paris Olympics opening offer a window for us to present the good news with clarity and urgency. The Apostle Paul frequently requested prayers from the Churches he established, asking for doors of opportunity to speak the mystery of Christ. In Colossians 4:3, he wrote, “Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ.” This is a prayer we should echo today. Our Response: Pray and Speak – Now is the time for us to speak out and pray fervently. Many of us often ask God to provide opportunities to share His blessed good news. The controversy surrounding the Olympics’ opening ceremony is just such a door. Let us walk through it, equipped with the Gospel and a passion to share the truth and wonder of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Remember to tell others that He is coming back very soon!

Helen’s Heart – Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens. You have done great things. Psalm 71:19 When I don’t understand why. When I don’t have a clue as to whom, and when, And when I cannot believe something good will come of a situation; I need to rest by faith that I trust a loving God who is sovereign, He is in charge of all. He knows, He understands and brings ‘all’ things to good for me. “Lord this is Your battle, I trust you for my need and will wait for you to do the impossible.” For without faith it is impossible to please Him – Hebrews 11:6

Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji
Let us pray that the resources we send to CC Nasinu will be a blessing and an enablement to spread the Gospel to the people of Fiji. Pray for God to use Ps Charles and his wife Tina to have the strength to minister to the many needs of the people God brings to them at CC Nasinu.
