Invitation to Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting: Rest in His Presence

Pastor Israel Carmody   -

Are you feeling the weight of a busy week, month, or year so far – longing for a moment to pause and rest in God’s presence? We invite you to join us this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. for a special prayer meeting at our church. This time together is inspired by Jesus’ invitation to His disciples in Mark 6, where He encouraged them to step away from the crowds and find rest in a quiet place with Him. Just as the disciples needed time away, we too need moments to pause and connect with our Saviour amidst the busyness of life.

Our evening will begin with a 30-minute study in Mark 6, where we’ll explore the importance of retreating into God’s presence. Following the study, you’ll have the opportunity to quietly sit in the sanctuary, resting in Jesus’ presence while scripture is projected and reflective music plays. This is a time to simply “be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). It’s a space where you can let go of distractions and find peace in the stillness. Oftentimes, our prayer times can be all about us speaking to God, not with God; and rarely allowing Him to speak to us by stopping and resting and listening. This night will be time to ‘wait upon the Lord’.

We will conclude our time together by sharing in communion, remembering Christ’s sacrifice and His continual presence with us. This evening of prayer and reflection is open to everyone. Come and experience a time of refreshment and spiritual renewal. We look forward to seeing you there!
