Daily devotion – The love of our Father!
1Jo 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
There are times in our lives that we all feel a little like orphans in God’s kingdom. We get down with the weight of this sinful world and our own struggles begin to buckle our knees. A sense of ‘aloneness’ creeps over our lives like a shadow blocking out the connection we have with our Heavenly Father.
Even King David went through such times – Psa 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Let us never forget that it was the Father’s plan to send Jesus into this dark world to rescue us from our sin. Jesus did not come of His own accord.
Still less did He wrest salvation from a reluctant Father to give it.
No, our Heavenly Father sent Him. The Father took the initiative in His great love for each of us. In the giving of His only Son, He was giving of Himself.
The next time you sense that wave of isolation begin to glide over your soul, remember David’s words that he spoke unto himself – hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Our Heavenly Father loves us dearly, we are forever in His thoughts and each day He seeks to watch over us.
Behind the wonder of salvation and the Gospel, lay our Heavenly Father’s fingerprints and His loving breath sweep over every piece of His amazing puzzle of glory.
