Praying for the Peace and Protection of God’s People
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:4
Disturbing news has emerged from Amsterdam, where gangs have been targeting and brutally attacking Jewish individuals. The situation is so severe that Israel has dispatched medical assistance to Amsterdam to aid the victims. Similar reports are also coming from other parts of the world, where Jewish students and individuals feel increasingly unsafe due to their heritage.
As believers, this news stirs up powerful emotions in our hearts. It’s natural to feel both anger and sorrow when we see such blatant acts of hatred and violence. This should drive us to respond with the weapons God has given us—not weapons of this world, but spiritual weapons of prayer and intercession.
Now, more than ever, let us stand in the gap for God’s chosen people. Join with your family and friends, and pray fervently for the safety and protection of the Jewish communities in Amsterdam, Australia, and worldwide. Pray for healing for those who have been wounded, and for God’s hand of peace to intervene.
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”
— Isaiah 54:17
Let us remember that God has given us the powerful weapon of prayer to wage this spiritual warfare. Satan cannot stand against the united prayers of Christ’s Church. So let us come together, lifting up our voices on behalf of the Jewish people, and trusting that God’s hand will be upon them.
It is a sobering reminder that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). Hatred and violence are symptoms of a deeper spiritual struggle. Our response as Christians is not only to feel sorrow or anger but to lift up those affected in prayer, interceding for peace, protection, and justice.
Take a moment today to gather with your family or friends, and pray for the Jewish people. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for the safety of Jewish communities worldwide, and for God to soften the hearts of those who harbor hatred.
Let us stand firm, trusting in God’s promise that no weapon formed against His people shall prosper. May we, as the body of Christ, continue to bring light and hope in a darkened world through our prayers and intercession.
