Daily devotion – ceasefires and agreements!

Pastor Keith   -

A cease fire in the north of Israel between Israel and Hezbollah!

What’s in the ceasefire deal? The agreement calls for a two-month initial halt in fighting and would require Hezbollah to end its armed presence in a broad swath of southern Lebanon, while Israeli troops would return to their side of the border. But implementation remains a major question mark.

What about fighting in Gaza? The deal does not address the devastating war in Gaza, where Hamas is still holding dozens of hostages. U.S. President Joe Biden, speaking in Washington, said his administration would make a renewed push for a ceasefire in Gaza in the coming days.

What happens if the truce is broken? “If Hezbollah breaks the agreement and tries to rearm, we will attack,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “For every violation, we will attack with might.”

The events in Israel continue to lead the world news and keep all eyes on Israel in these Last Days.

The prophet Daniel tells us in chapter 9: 27 The ruler will make a treaty with the people (Israel) for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.”

In future days ahead, when the antichrist has come to power, he will sign an agreement with Israel that will lead to them rebuilding their Temple once again. But 3 ½ years in, or halfway, the antichrist will break his agreement and cease all worship in Israel.

From that time on he will force people to worship him and to receive a mark on their forehead or hand. Those refusing to do so will face capital punishment.

We live in difficult times when many agreements are written and broken. Who can be trusted?

But one thing we can be sure of is that God never breaks His promises!

Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

Jesus is coming back – He promised!
