Daily devotion – ministry
John 3:30
John the Baptist’s words remind us of a profound truth: ministry is not about us but about Christ. True ministry means disappearing into the background so that God’s glory alone shines through.
Ministry is Serving:
Ministry is not about status, fame, or being seen. It is about serving others in humility, as Christ did.
Every Gift is From God:
James 1:17 tells us:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights.”
Whatever talent or gift we have is not our own—it is God-given.
Warning Against Pride:
God resists the proud and exalts the humble. If we think we are “something,” we lose sight of the truth: ministry is for God’s glory, not ours.
A Lesson in Humility:
At Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour, there are faithful servants who, like John the Baptist, serve quietly and humbly. They do not seek recognition or status but consider it a privilege to serve the Lord who loves us.
Reflection This Week:
As you serve the Lord, ensure:
You are in the background.
Christ is magnified and glorified.
Every act of service reflects humility and gratitude for the call God has placed upon your life.
Remember:
“He must increase, but I must decrease.”
