Daily devotion – In God’s hands
Merry Christmas to You All!
Each year, as we celebrate Christmas with our Christmas Eve service here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour, I treasure the opportunity to share the Gospel message. The story of Christ—why He came, who He was at His birth, and what His coming means for every soul—remains the most profound truth we can share.
During our service, we always extend an altar call, offering a chance for hearts to respond to Christ for the first time and for others to receive prayer.
Behind the beauty of this service lies much preparation: extra chairs set up, the worship team rehearsing tirelessly, children’s programs carefully planned, and countless unseen efforts offered with love.
Yet, the true outcome and eternal impact are in God’s hands alone. It is He who softens hearts, brings conviction, and transforms lives.
In Acts 17:32, we see the Apostle Paul preaching on Mars Hill:
“When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, ‘We will hear you again on this matter.’”
Even Jesus Himself, the greatest teacher and preacher, faced rejection in John 6. Many turned away when He called them to repentance and faith.
These moments remind us that we are in a spiritual battle for souls. Each person has the free will to choose Christ or reject Him.
For many of us, our hearts ache for loved ones who have yet to surrender to Christ. It’s easy to feel discouraged when prayers seem unanswered and hearts remain resistant.
What should we do?
We must keep praying, keep believing, and keep entrusting them into God’s hands. He is patient and His desire, like ours, is that none should perish, but all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
As we step into 2025, let us remain steadfast on this spiritual battlefield, holding fast to the hope we have in Christ.
Let us not grow weary but continue to pray earnestly, trust unwaveringly, and love unconditionally.
God is faithful, and His timing is perfect.
Merry Christmas, and may God’s peace and joy fill your hearts this season!
