Daily devotion – Open my eyes that I may see from Heaven’s vantage point.

A Vision of the Holy God
Isaiah 6:1-8

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.” (Isaiah 6:1)

Every time I read this passage, I am overwhelmed by its beauty and power! Isaiah, in a moment of heartache and worship, is given a vision of the throne and glory of God. He was struggling with the recent death of King Uzziah in 740 B.C., and Israel was in turmoil. What would happen next?

In response, God gives Isaiah a vision—not of an earthly king, but of the true King seated on His throne! This was a revelation of our Lord Himself in all His majesty and holiness.

When the world around us seems to be crumbling, we need heaven’s perspective. Isaiah saw Israel’s distress, but from heaven’s view, the seraphim declared:

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!” (Isaiah 6:3)

Even in trials, God’s glory still fills the earth.

A Vision that Transforms
This encounter did not just amaze Isaiah—it convicted him.

“Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips…” (Isaiah 6:5)

Standing before the Holy God, Isaiah saw his own sinfulness. But God did not leave him in despair. A seraph took a live coal from the altar, touched his lips, and declared:

“Your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.” (Isaiah 6:7)

A Vision that Calls
Once cleansed, Isaiah’s focus shifted from himself to God’s mission. He heard the Lord ask:

“Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” (Isaiah 6:8)

Isaiah, now transformed, eagerly responded:

“Here am I! Send me.”

Will You Answer the Call?
Like Isaiah, we may face discouragement, uncertainty, and conviction of sin. But when we lift our eyes to the King of kings, we see that He is still on His throne! He cleanses, He restores, and He calls us to serve Him.

Will you, today, make yourself available to God? Will you say, “Here am I! Send me”?

Maranatha—Come, Lord Jesus!
