The wonder of Prayer!
There is a marvellous wonderment to prayer. Have you ever thought exactly what prayer is? By that, what is actually happening when you pray? Think about it for just a moment and you will be amazed. It reminds me of the story I heard of a man walking across a rich green field in Ireland.
He stopped for a moment on his journey to retie his shoelace. As he stopped down to fix his lace he noticed for the very first time the intricacy, detail and beauty of that he had been crushing with every step he had been taking. He discovered the beauty of the three leaf clover the Irish call a Shamrock!
When we pray we are coming before the Creator of Heaven and earth. The Bible tells us when we pray we enter the holiest place of Heaven that being at the very throne of Almighty God. As we pray, whether our lips are moving with audible words, or our hearts overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions impossible to speak of….. and God Himself listens!
But God not only listens He then sets in action the answers to our prayers. With a praying Daniel God sent angels immediately to respond to Daniel.
Jesus said if we ask anything, according to the will of God, and in His name, He would answer it!
The next time you pray, whether it be on your knees, in your car, at the dinner table or the kitchen sink – take a moment to remember what is about to happen! Its amazing!
