What’s on this week
📖 This Wednesday
Join us as we gather to open God’s Word, followed by our time of prayer—answering the Lord’s call to be His disciples of prayer. Let us seek for God’s kingdom to be done on earth! Time is short, and prayer is greatly needed.
👦👧 This Friday – Calvary Kids & Calvary Youth
Both ministries will be on this coming Friday. We still have some new Calvary Youth hoodies available—see Noah Carmody if you’d like to purchase one before they are all gone!
Why not come down to church this Friday, encourage the leaders, and be a blessing to the kids?
👨‍👧‍👦 Next Sunday – Father’s Day & Holy Communion
We will be celebrating Holy Communion together in the morning service as well as giving thanks for fathers and grandfathers. Please note: there will be no evening service next Sunday only, allowing more time to spend with family.
🏗️ Church Building Extension
We praise the Lord for answered prayer! Rockingham City Council has approved us to continue with our original building plans with only minor adjustments. Once these are finalized, we will begin seeking tenders for construction to commence.
🙏 The Persecuted Church
Did you know that the most persecuted people in the world continue to be Christians? Today, over 380 million believers face intense levels of hostility.
In 2024, Open Doors International reported:
 • 4,476 killed for faith-related reasons
 • 7,679 churches and faith-based buildings attacked
 • 4,744 believers imprisoned
In 2025, persecution and violence against Christians are increasing. Jesus warned us of these days: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you… You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.” Luke 21:10–12(Excerpt from Calvary Chapel Magazine, August issue)

Helen’s Heart
I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content – Phil 4:11 Whatever your current circumstances might be you can view them as an opportunity to deepen your relationship with Jesus. These anxious concerns can cause you to fall apart or trust the Lord knowing that He will not take you through anything but that which is absolutely necessary. Accept His plan and co-operate with Him – choose to be content knowing whatever comes your way that God is in control.

Grace Giving
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in “Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world.” Account name – Calvary Chapel Church Secret Harbour Incorporated – Account – 10891970 – BSB – 066-516.

From the Pastor’s Pen
Do you know that Preaching is also worship. Many people think worship is only singing. This could not be further from the truth. What is worship? What does God desire that we should do in worship? Preaching is essentially an act of worship. Jesus tells us in (John 4:23) what God seeks of those who worship Him. What does it mean to worship Him in spirit and in truth? How does preaching fit into that? In Isaiah 6:1-8, we are given a picture of authentic worship, of what God expects of His people when they worship Him. Worship begins with a vision of the one true living God – He is infinite and we are finite. Worship is the people of God gathered together to confess God’s worthiness, His ‘worth-ship.’Secondly, true worship leads to a confession of sin (Isaiah 6:5). If we do not come face to face with our sin as individuals and as a congregation, we have not seen God, and we have not worshipped Him. (Psalm 51:1-4). Authentic worship will lead also to a display of redemption, by which we proclaim the Gospel (Isaiah 6:6-7). Lastly, authentic worship requires a response! (Isaiah 6:8). “Here am I send me!” Through the preaching of the Word we come to a true vision of the living God, we recognise our own sinfulness, hear the declaration of redemption, and are called to a response of faith, repentance and service!

Quotes of the Week
“In all the problems we are facing today, we need a map. And the Bible tells us we do have a map, and that map is the Bible, the Word of the living God.” #BillyGraham

“We should bring men to Christ, not to our own particular views of Christianity.” — Charles Spurgeon

“Operation Christmas Child
Kicks off again this year here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour from Sunday 14th September – Sunday 5th October 2025. Be sure that you and your family seize this awesome opportunity to share the Gospel of Christ with a child and bring the blessing of our giving God to their hearts personally.
