Continue in the battle…
2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2Ti 1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord,
Christians live in a fallen world that is in rebellion against God and His rule. For every Christian there comes a time when their faith in Jesus Christ is challenged. It might be the only kid in a class who says he is a Christian and becomes the brunt of the whole class bullying him or her simply because they have declared they are a Christian. A Christian in the face of opposition and against all odds.
It might be the worker at the worksite who reads his or her Bible at the lunch break and faces the derision of the rest of their work colleagues in believing it to be the Word of God.
In a home it might be the wife openly praying for the family of going to church alone only to face the hostility of their husband when they return.
It may be a son or daughter in a family that shares their love for God and their desire that the rest of their family would receive Christ as their Saviour but is mocked every time they speak such things.
If that may be you and you feel you are getting nowhere and not making any difference and the struggle is hard and lonely and you consider relenting.
But for some reason you do not give!
The very fact that in spite of hardship, persecution and indifference yet you continue on in the battle is a sign to you that God Himself is at work in your life. For any natural man would have surrendered. Any natural man would simply take the easy road of compliance, of non-resistance.
It was the Apostle Paul who like you faced hardship, beatings, abuse and continual struggles but he kept on sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. The power that drove Paul is the same power that drives and sustains you to continue and not give in – Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News! 1 Cor 9:16
What compelled Paul now also compels you? It is the love of God that fills your heart and powers your life into the wind of opposition and fills your sails with a power that will break through any storm, and any opposition!
That compelling drive in your heart is the compelling love that God has for all who are lost and He has chosen you to be His instrument to break down the walls of opposition and bring His love to a lonely world.
God has not given you a spirit of fear but of POWER and its turbine is His love….
Today, step up again, face the challenge and God will use you to save a lost soul that was once a prodigal like you!
