Daily devotion – A New Year…

Pastor Keith   -

Mat 16:26 “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Another year gone, a New Year beginning. As you stand now and look back, can you see the hand of God over your life? Or are you blind to all that He has given, all that He has saved you from, and the times we neglected Him?

Do you look at 2025 with regret, or with relief? Was it a year of heartache and loss, tragedy and sorrow? Bondi will be with us all now forever!

We need to ask ourselves at least two questions:

1.Firstly, how do you think God views 2025 in your life, the life of your marriage of your family, of your children? Did the year bring you closer to Him?

2. What lessons will you take from 2025 into 2026? What did God teach you?

Let all of us not be bound by our past and its failures. But let us grow wiser and not repeat the same mistakes again. What are the lessons God has given to you and I to learn and how seriously now do we plan to implement them?

Don’t say you will start them tomorrow. Begin right now the New Year at the foot of His Cross and finally surrender.

The Bible tells us that, Mal 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I do not change;..” Heb 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

God has been constant in His love and grace for us all through 2025 and He will be the same to us in 2026.

Jesus tells the story of a foolish farmer who in spite of the blessings of God, neglected Him, ignored Him and gave no thought to His life after death.

That foolish farmer was so wrapped up in his own selfish living; he gave all his life to this world and to his own greed.

Luke 12: 16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ 18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’
21 “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

We have a New Year before us and the Bible gives us but one thing to doPhl 3:13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
Phl 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Happy New Year in Christ! – Jesus is Coming….
