Daily devotion – Let’s trust God this week!

Pastor Keith   -

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

Trust is easy to talk about, but costly to live. We often trust God up to the point where circumstances stop making sense. When the road ahead is unclear, our natural instinct is to grab the steering wheel—to reason, to plan, to control. Yet the call of Scripture is not partial trust, but whole-hearted trust.

Notice what the verse doesn’t say. It doesn’t say, “Trust the Lord when you understand,” or “Trust Him when the outcome looks favourable.” It says, do not lean on your own understanding. Our understanding is limited, shaped by emotion, fear, and what we can see in the moment. God’s understanding is eternal, perfect, and already at work ahead of us.

Trusting the Lord means placing the full weight of our life—our worries, decisions, relationships, and future—onto Him. It means acknowledging Him not only in spiritual moments, but in everyday ones: conversations, finances, family matters, disappointments, and delays. When we do, God promises direction—not always explanation, but guidance.

Many of the heroes of faith trusted God without seeing the full picture. Abraham went out not knowing where he was going. Joseph trusted God through betrayal and prison. David trusted God while still running from Saul. Trust did not remove hardship, but it anchored their hearts.

If today you are waiting, uncertain, or weary, remember this: trust is not pretending everything is fine. Trust is saying, “Lord, I don’t understand this—but I know You.” And that is enough.

Lord, today teach me to trust You with all my heart. Help me to release my need to understand everything and to rest in who You are. Lead my steps, steady my heart, and glorify Yourself through my life. Amen.
Trust Him—He is already working where you cannot see.
