The life in bloom….
Jhn 12:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
Jhn 12:25 “He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life
If a father or mother lives only for himself or herself the family suffers and the children eventually go astray. But if they give of themselves, the family thrives and the children become an honour to their parents and their parents blessed with great joy. This is a great lesson in the context of what Jesus is teaching us here in John 12 of His very own life and the example we were to follow.
George Mueller is a man who took Jesus words seriously and applied them in his own life. He lived in England several generations ago and founded a number of amazing orphanages maintaining them financially only through prayer!
When asked of how he was able to achieve such he replied, “There was a day when I died – died to George Mueller, his opinions, preferences, tastes and his will; I died to the world of its approval or disapproval; I died to the praise or blame of my family or friends; and since then I have studied only to show myself approved unto God.”
To lose your own life in order to gain it unto life eternal means to be willing to do ‘anything’ for Jesus Christ, if He directs it! This will not be a sad or gloomy thing either because your obedience to Him is the very joy of your life.
It was such joy that helped our Lord endure the cross ……Hebrews 12 :12 for the joy that was set before Him….He endured….the cross…!
The life of a Christian is not shallow, neither is it for show. The life of a Christian is one of great power, joy and faith, as we fulfil that for which we were created to do!
From one grain planted…to a field fit for harvest!
What potential resides in a man or woman ready to live totally for the Lord!
