House of Prayer

Isaiah 56:7

God declares in Book of Isaiah 56:7 that His house is to be a house of prayer for all people. This reveals the heart of God for His people and for His Church. Above programs, activities, and even service, God desires that His people be a praying people.

The apostle reminds us in First Epistle to Timothy 2:1 that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks should be made for all. Prayer is not optional for the believer — it is essential. It is the clear evidence of our dependence upon God and our faith in His Word.

A church that truly prays is a church where the power of God is at work, changing hearts, restoring lives, and drawing souls to Christ.

Jesus also taught that prayer rises to God like a holy sacrifice. As written in Book of Psalms 141, prayer is like incense before Him and the lifting of our hands like the evening sacrifice. Each time we gather to pray, we are bringing something precious before the Lord — the offering of hearts that trust Him.

Each Wednesday, when we pray together as the body of Christ, we place God first above every burden, every fear, and every earthly concern. With thanksgiving, we offer Him the beautiful sacrifice of our prayers.

It is when we make prayer a priority, a daily habit, that God’s power begins to flow in and through us to every area of our lives, then you too  will see God’s blessings flow.

You can be part of the reason that Christ calls His house a house of prayer.
